The project plan for the High-End Health Screening and Regenerative Medicine Center has been approved by the board of directors, marking a new phase in the partnership.
(Abuja, Nigeria)
On March 13, 2026, a delegation from Shanghai Jianhang Investment Co., Ltd. attended the Board of Trustees meeting of the Igbiniton University Teaching Hospital (IUTH) in Abuja, where they presented a comprehensive overview of the medical project plan to all board members. Following the meeting, the two parties formally signed a Memorandum of Understanding on March 18 in Okada, Edo State, marking a significant milestone in the project’s progress.
At the meeting, the Chinese delegation provided a comprehensive overview of key aspects of the high-end health management and medical examination services center project, including investment scale, medical equipment configuration, site renovation plans, and the training of specialized medical personnel. The project comprises two main components: first, a regenerative medicine center incorporating next-generation cellular diagnostic and therapeutic technologies; and second, a high-end medical and health care center. These two components will complement each other in terms of client base, jointly establishing a leading one-stop medical and health service platform in West Africa.
The IUTH Board of Directors highly commended the project plan, noting that it aligns closely with the development strategy proposed by the Nigerian Ministry of Health based on the current state of primary healthcare in the country, and will significantly enhance the coverage and capacity of local healthcare services. The Board explicitly stated that it will provide full support in terms of local resources and channels, as well as ensure the necessary conditions for project implementation, thereby creating favorable conditions for the project to be launched as soon as possible.
The signing of this Memorandum of Understanding marks the official launch of the implementation phase of the medical cooperation between Shanghai Jianhang and IUTH, and both parties will continue to steadily advance the subsequent work.
