To advance the implementation of the 1 million-layer breeding project reached with the Edo State Government of Nigeria, on January 28, 2026, the Chairman of Shanghai Jianhang, accompanied by department heads and agricultural technical experts, conducted an on-site inspection of the layer farm base in Edo State. Officials from relevant departments of Edo State and local partners accompanied the delegation throughout the process.

In accordance with project construction standards, the delegation surveyed multiple alternative plots regarding core conditions including terrain, transportation, water and electricity supply, and preliminarily selected preferred sites. Details such as land leveling and infrastructure supporting construction were also discussed simultaneously.

Officials from the Department of Agriculture of Edo State introduced local agricultural advantages and pain points in breeding. Our experts elaborated on the project plan: adopting a standardized threedimensional breeding mode, equipped with automated equipment, and establishing a biosafety system, balancing production efficiency and environmental protection.
The two sides reached consensus during the discussion: the Edo State Government and its partners will assist in advancing the preliminary preparation of the project, while Shanghai Jianhang will accelerate the planning and implementation of the project to help build a complete layer breeding industrial chain locally.
Both sides expressed full confidence in the project implementation, agreeing that it will fill the gap in largescale breeding in the region, create jobs and increase local income, and lay a solid foundation for practical subnational cooperation between China and Nigeria. During the inspection, the two sides also visited local feed raw material planting bases.
