(Abuja, Nigeria)
On May 20, 2026, a delegation from Shanghai Jianhang Investment Co., Ltd. held a thematic meeting in Abuja with Dr. Abdu Mukhtar, the National Coordinator of Nigeria’s Presidential Value Chain in Healthcare (PVAC) initiative. The two sides engaged in an in-depth exchange of views on healthcare diagnosis and treatment as well as regenerative medicine research projects. The meeting attracted attention from Nigeria’s mainstream media, and NIGHT NEWS, an evening news channel, covered the event.
Dr. Mukhtar stated that healthcare is a key priority for Nigeria’s national development. He welcomed Shanghai Jianhang’s introduction of advanced medical technologies and operational expertise, adding that the federal government would actively coordinate resources from all parties to provide policy support and administrative assistance for the project’s implementation.
Launched through a partnership between Shanghai Jianhang and Igbiniton University (IUO) in Nigeria, the project comprises two main components: first, a regenerative medicine center incorporating next-generation stem cell and NK cell technologies, focusing on the treatment of hard-to-heal wounds, musculoskeletal disorders, and the enhancement of the human immune system; and second, a high-end medical and health care center offering one-stop precision screening and health management services. These two entities complement each other in terms of client base and will jointly establish a leading medical and health care platform in West Africa.
Once completed, the project will fill a long-standing gap in Nigeria’s high-end medical examination and regenerative medicine services, while also promoting the training of local medical professionals and the development of research capabilities, and driving the growth of related health industries.
