On October 5, 2026, Shanghai Jianhang Investment Co., Ltd. and its Nigerian partner signed a joint venture agreement for the Benin City Freshwater Fish Farm in Benin City, Edo State. On the same day, the two parties also signed a memorandum of understanding on jointly establishing an engineering construction team, extending their cooperation from the aquaculture project to joint capacity building in engineering.

The Benin City Freshwater Fish Farm will be restored and brought back into operation through the joint venture. Freshwater fish products in Nigeria have long been in short supply. Once production begins, the project will prioritize meeting local demand in Benin City and gradually expand its reach to surrounding areas, building regional aquatic product supply capacity. This marks another milestone for Shanghai Jianhang in Nigeria's agricultural sector.

The second memorandum focuses on engineering construction. The two parties will jointly establish an engineering construction team as a shared engineering platform for the group, primarily serving the group's internal projects and undertaking civil works, installation, and maintenance. As Nigeria's demand for infrastructure continues to grow and specialized construction capacity remains tight, the establishment of the team will not only provide stable support for the group's internal projects but also enable both parties to move beyond single-project investment toward a two-way extension across the industrial chain and capacity building.
